Signed Memorandum of Understanding

 The Ethiopian Women in Energy association and General Winget polytechnic college (GWPTC) signed a memorandum of understanding on June 3, 2022, at the East Africa Skills for transformation and regional integration project (ESTRIP) performance review workshop. The primary purpose of the MoU between EWiEN and GWPTC is strategic cooperation in the establishment and implementation of the Center of Excellence in Electrical and Digital Application (CEDA) under the  East Africa Skills for Transformation and Regional Integration Project (EASTRIP). The two parties intend to cooperate and focus their efforts and cooperation on skilled-based training, education, and joint research. These MoU would bring the resources between the two institutions to benefit the student community of GWPTC and members of EWiEn to enhance their skills and knowledge.

Representing EWiEn, Sinafikish Lemma, Co-founder and board member, signed the MoU, and her counterpart, GWPTC Dean, Meles signed the document. During the signing of the MoU, Sinafikish stated, “On behalf of the Ethiopian Women in Energy Association, we look forward to collaborating with General Winget Polytechnic College.” The Dean of GWPTC also said, “to realize the project, a collaboration between many stakeholders is essential, and thanked the organizations for making the commitment and interest to work together with the college.”

The Ethiopian Women in Energy association looks forward to collaborating with GWPTC on the ESTRIP project and other programs to pave the road to skilled labor and increase women’s participation in the sector.
