The Ethiopian Women in Energy Association (EWiEn) is hosting a half-day thematic workshop exploring the critical role of reliable energy in enabling Ethiopia’s growing digital economy. The event will bring together stakeholders from the energy, ICT, finance, government, private sector, academia, and development sectors to discuss how dependable electricity supports digital businesses, innovation, entrepreneurship, and economic growth.

The workshop will examine opportunities for women and youth to participate in digitally enabled enterprises, including e-commerce, digital financial services, and technology-driven businesses. Through expert presentations, panel discussions, and interactive dialogue, participants will explore practical strategies to strengthen collaboration across the energy and digital ecosystems, promote inclusive digital transformation, and expand women’s participation in Ethiopia’s digital economy.

Expected participants: Government institutions, energy utilities, ICT and fintech companies, women entrepreneurs, development partners, civil society organisations, universities, innovation hubs, private sector representatives, youth representatives, and EWiEn members and partners.
